Web Based Training for First Responders- Fire Personel /EMS (training platform capable of all types of DoD and Commercial requirements)

We have developed a system to better utilize the resourses already in place in most Fire Department Training Centers. The solution was created through a joint effort of Wright Government Services team of online training experts and 2 of the state of Florida’s District Training Supervisors. The system was developed with the combined knowledge derived from 60 years of training experience for Florida and Ohio Fire and EMS responders and their understanding of what the current needs for effective fire department training is and state of the art delivery capabilities are for most Fire Departments in the United States of America. The main features of this system are, reporting, online interactive classes and tests, documentation portal and scheduling portal. Following are the key points of the system:

• The system can be completely managed by the end user upon delivery and is very easy for the training dept to implement. We have a lot of classes already composed and the system allows you to update the content if there are area specific concerns.
  
• The reporting can be customized if needed and there are built in reports to track most items that the state audits them on.
  
• The classes are “SCORM” compliant and will accept finished classes from any “SCORM” content composer. Classes can be built with of the shelf products like power point and more complex products like Thesis. Shared Content Object Reference Module (SCORM) Classes are portable and follow the only International Standard for class creation.
  
• The system is a combination of two open source products, dotlrn (with open-acs AOL server) and Learning Activity Management System ( LAMS)class taking. Dotlrn (Learning Management System) is the main server based product that does the reporting, retains the content, reporting and calendaring function. LAMS is the course creation and delivery along with testing. We have used the products to create the foundation and shaped them to provide an intuitive experience for both instructor and student. Once a course is successfully finished LAMS reports back to open ACS that student has completed class, then issues certificate with expiration the CEC (continuing education credit)
  
• Authentication sign on with user name and password
  
• All classes credits awarded to students can be set to expire after a period of time and notify the instructor or supervisor beforehand.
  
• The system can easily be adapted for any form of training needs.
  
• The product is hosted on the internet with network security in place. This allows instructors and students to remotely access from anywhere to take classes or update lessons.
  
• Students get their own area to store documents, check on upcoming requirements as well as view there scheduling for work and vacation.
  
• The system allows for global planning and deployment of training in a spread environment.
  
• Students can go back and view completed courses and class material
  
• The content is created by regional training officers to be NAFTA (North America Fire Training Academy) as well as for acceptance by Medical Directors.
  
• The testing can be done as multiple choices, essay, radio button or any other style you choose, with a user defined question and answer bank. Example 40 q/a in the bank and the student gets a random 25.
  
• The system has modules that can be loaded for, forums, news, photo album, surveys, homework, e-commerce and much more.
  
• Real time classes can be held.
  
• The system is version controlled and has a very stable architecture with growth and scalability built in from the ground up.
